Tomorrow, we're leaving to drive to NY for my mother's memorial service.  It will be the third trip I've made north in the last two months (and I'm hoping to make another one in October to see my comet partner).  Each time, I've felt like I was going nuts trying to get everything together.  To be fair, trying to get everyone in my house on the same page is like herding cats.  But this time... I'm actually feeling really good about it all.

Some of it, I think, is that I recognized that I have plans to play board games with my poly friends tonight.  (That's also why I'm not leaving at my usual 4 am.)  But some of it is just that I'm starting to feel a bit more put together.  I took my time this morning, enjoying breakfast on the porch and playing a few games on my phone.  But then I took care of laundry, dishes, cleaning up messes, packing, showering and going to the grocery store for supplies.  And I've been able to spend the last couple of hours back on the porch, playing a game on my computer and watching the rain come down.

Some of it could be that I'm trying not to think of death.  Between my mom a month ago, Dolly Parton yesterday and Tim Curry today, I'm kinda over death.  I just want a time when I'm not losing loved ones or favorite icons.  Of course, saying this means that something will happen.  That's my kind of luck.  But if I can come outside and enjoy time on my porch, thinking about the joy that they brought to my life.... that can't be a bad thing.

Yep.  I'm just waffling on today.  Nothing important to see here.
